FASCIA, SOFFIT & GUTTER

What are Fascias and what are they used for?

Fascias are long, straight boards that run along the lower edge of a roof. They exist for multiple reasons. These include providing a stable surface to hold the bottom row of roof tiles, being a solid base for attaching gutters, and protecting rafter ends from being damaged by the weather. Fascias, therefore, play a key part in protecting the roof's rafters and joist beams from moisture damage.

Fascias also make a house look neat by providing a clean, finished edge where the roof meets the walls. They hide exposed rafters and create a seamless transition that improves a property's overall appearance. Fascias offer a polished look and can be customised to match a home's style, and maintain a smart, tidy appearance by preventing damage from the elements.

Our extensive experience at ETN means we have over a decade of installing and repairing fascias on properties of any size.

Soffits are the finished, underside boards of a roof overhang that connect the edge of the roof to the exterior wall. They are located under the fascias and they are primarily used to protect a property's eaves from weather damage, debris, and pests. Soffits also provide crucial attic ventilation to prevent moisture buildup.

Having new soffits helps to make a house look neat by covering the underside of the roof overhang, creating a smooth, finished appearance. Soffits also block gaps between the roof and walls, contributing to the home's finished appearance by creating a sealed, complete look. Soffits can come in various colors to match or complement the property's exterior style.

Our extensive experience at ETN means we can install or repair a wide range of soffits on properties of any size.

How does my Guttering protect my home?

Gutters are installed along the edge of a roof in channels to collect and direct water safely away from your roof. This protects your home by preventing water damage to the foundation, walls, and roof.

Having high-quality gutters that are expertly installed is a wise way to prevent leaks, stop water from running down the walls or from pooling around your property. Poor-quality guttering around your house can lead to a range of issues, including staining, erosion, and mould.

Before

'Clad Over'

A 'clad-over' option means your guttering is removed, and the existing wooden fascia and soffit are simply clad over with PVC to give your roofline a fresh new look.

Any rotten or damaged areas are always replaced first. Your new guttering is then installed on to your new fascia. This is a great way to upgrade your home whilst keeping the cost down.

'Rip Down'

A 'rip down' means all of your existing fascia, soffit, and gutter is completely removed, and replaced with new plastic cladding, in the colour and finish options of your choice. Ventilation is always installed into your new soffits, either as a disc vent or with a ventilated soffit board.

ETN is able to offer a range of colours such as white, grey, black, and brown in either a smooth finish or a timeless woodgrain effect.

For any properties with two stories or more, scaffolding will be erected on your property.
